If you have a service-based business, how do you go about finding people that will support you? You need to ask and get out “there”. Networking groups and communities like Women & Money Montreal are a start. Other organizations or support systems include YES Employment & Entrepreneurship and Women Who Freelance Montreal on Facebook.

How do you go about finding staff? Do you go to an agency? Where do you even start? Again, see above. You can also ask within your own social media communities. If you are a freelancer and have a limited budget, platforms like Fiverr are a good start to helping you find anything from virtual assistants or social media content managers. If you have a larger business, you can approach recruitment firms to assist you in finding the right candidates for your business.

How do you get over the fear of spending money on your business especially when you don’t have that money to begin with? This starts with having the right mindset when it comes to running your business. Maria Luisa Goyo from Futurpreneur and Dana Azzi from The Rebel Chronicles hosted past Breakfast Club Zooms and spoke at length about mindset and leveraging your business.

We’re a group of women with different talents who want to come together to start a business. Where do we even begin? The first thing to do is start with a business plan. This is even before figuring out business registration or even coming up with a name. What is your business? What is the service or product are you offering? What will everyone’s role be? And most importantly, what are the costs involved and the expected revenue? How will you make this revenue? When there are multiple partners, it is idea to reach out to a third party to create a business contract in order to prevent conflict and for everyone to be on the same page. An organization like YES Employment & Entrepreneurship can help.
